I was finishing my 3 years bond as a nurse in SGH (Nov 2012) and thought of trying something new. Its not that I don't like my job, I love my current job but I would like to do something different before I get too comfortable or "stuck-down" and eventually too old to venture out. So I decided to try to get into SIA to be a stewardess. :)
It is not easy for me.. firstly because of my not-so-good complexion. After started working, I often have breakouts and hence a lot of scarring. To be more confident of myself, I went to seek for help. Recommended by Manda and Siewfoon, I went to Niks clinic at Tampines on Nov '12. My skin isn't in the best condition now but it is soooo much better than last year's. Secondly I do not have so much confidence in myself. Thankfully I have very supportive family, Vamvam and my friends :) Especially Vamvam, he helped me to rehearsed my introduction speech, coming out with very attention catching lines, correcting my weird tones & expressions, asking me different questions that I might encounter during the interview and he is so confident about me. Ever since he helped me to come out w the good introduction, I had been getting into round 2 easily. My family also always giving me moral support, wishing me luck, my mom will wake me up for the interviews, my cousin accompanied me to the interview. My friends feeling excited for me, giving me tips, lending me formal wear & shoes, wishing me luck. Everyone was so supportive and confident in me :')
I did a lot of research about the interviews stages, questions and what to expect etc. Asking around for tips and questions from some friends who are cabin crews now.
Although my journey for getting the job wasn't smooth.. I tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed... and finally on my 6th tries, I made it !!!!! :'D
Interviews- PASSED
Medical checkup- PASSED
and now I am waiting for my training to start :)
